【 リトル・フィート / Little Feat 】

ローエル・ジョージ （Lowell George、１９４５年４月１３日生まれ・１９７９年６月２９日没） がフランク・ザッパ （Frank Zappa、１９４０年１２月２１日生まれ・１９９３年１２月４日没） のグループ、マザーズ・オブ・インヴェンション / Mothers of Invention のギタリストだったときに、ロス・アンジェルスでキーボード・プレイヤーのビル・ペイン （Bill Payne、１９４９年３月１２日生まれ） と出合って、マザーズ・オブ・インヴェンションのベイシストのロイ・エストラダ （Roy Estrada、１９４３年４月１７日生まれ）、ローエル・ジョージがマザーズ・オブ・インヴェンションの前に参加してしていたザ・ファクトリー / The Factory のドラマーだったリッチー・ヘイワード （Richie Hayward、１９４６年２月６日生まれ） の４人で結成したグループで、ローエル・ジョージのヴォーカルとスライド・ギターが売り物となっている．
１９７９年にはローエル・ジョージが薬物の過剰摂取で亡くなるが、ピル・ペインとリッチー・ヘイワードを中心に活動を続けている．
２枚目のＬＰ 『Little Feat : Sailin' Shoes (LP/1972)』 以降は、ネオン・パーク / Neon Park がカヴァーのイラストを描いていて、リトル・フィートの特徴ともなっている．

鈴木茂のデビュー・アルバム 『鈴木茂 : バンドワゴン (LP/1975)』 では、ローエル・ジョージ / Lowell George 抜きのリトル・フィート［ビル・ペイン、ケニー・グラダニー （Kenny Gradney、ベイス・ギター）、リッチー・ヘイワード （Richie Hayward、ドラムズ）、サム・クレイトン （Sam Clayton、パーカッション）］が参加しているが、ＬＰでは曲ごとのクレジットがないのでどの曲で伴奏しているかはわからない．
