【 リチャード・トンプソン / Richard Thompson 】

リチャード・トンプソン （Richard Thompson、１９４９年４月３日生まれ） はサイモン・ニコル / Simon Nicol の友人で、アシュレイ・ハッチングズ / Ashley Hutchings とサイモン・ニコル / Simon Nicol がフェアポート・コンヴェンション / Fairport Convention を結成するときにリード・ギタリストとして参加する．
１９６８年５月には、脱退したリード・ヴォーカリストのジュディ・ダイブル / Judy Dyble の後任としてサンディ・デニー / Sandy Denny をグループに迎え、『Fairport Convention : What We Did On Our Holidays (LP/1969)』 ではリード・ギタリストとしてだけでなく、１２曲のうち５曲を作曲している．いづれの曲もイアン・マシューズ / Ian Matthews とサンディ・デニー / Sandy Denny のヴォーカルの良さを引き出す曲となっている．
１９６９年５月１１日の交通事故ではガール・フレンド、ジーニー・フランクリン / Jeannie Franklyn が亡くなり、リチャード・トンプソン / Richard Thompson 自身も怪我を負う．ジーニー・フランクリン / Jeannie Franklyn への哀歌として、活動再開後の 『Fairport Convention : Liege and Lief (LP/1969)』 で "Farewell, farewell [Richard Thompson]" を発表する．
『Fairport Convention : Full House (LP/1970)』 発売後の１９７１年１月にソロ活動に入るために、グループを脱退する．
ソロでの最初の活動は 『Sandy Denny : The North Star Grassman and The Ravens (LP/1971)』 の演奏・編曲・プロデュース．
１９７１年１２月・１９７２年１月録音のプロジェクト 『The Bunch : Rock On (LP/1972)』 に参加し、サンディ・デニー / Sandy Denny の友人リンダ・ピーターズと再会し、１９７４年の 『Richard and Linda Thompson : I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight (LP/1974)』 からデュエットでの活動をはじめ、１９８２年まで続く．
１９８２年以降は、ソロを中心に活動している．

【 リンダ・ピーターズ / Linda Peters、リンダ・トンプソン / Linda Thompson 】

リンダ・ピーターズ （Linda Peters、１９４７年８月２３日生まれ） は、ロンドン大学に通うかたわら出入りしていたフォーク・クラブでサンディ・デニーやジョー・ボイド / Joe Boyd と知り合う．
『The Bunch : Rock On (LP/1972)』 の録音後、リチャード・トンプソン / Richard Thompson と結婚し、リンダ・トンプソン （Linda Thompson） となる．
リチャード・トンプソン / Richard Thompson とのデュオは１９８２年まで続くが、１９８２年以降は、ソロでの活動ややリチャード・トンプソン / Richard Thompson との子供テディ・トンプソン （Teddy Thompson、１９７６年生まれ） との共演を続けている．
